This Privacy Policy describes how Templr / Templrapp / templrapp.com ("Templr", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use templrapp.com, the Templr dashboard, builder, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are

Templr serves users globally, including in the European Union and United Kingdom. Where EU/UK data protection law (GDPR / UK GDPR) applies to your use of the Service, the sections below relevant to those rights apply to you.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- The Templr website
- User dashboard
- Email template builder
- AI-powered design generation features
- Template gallery and creator system
- Contact form on the Templr website
It does not apply to third-party services connected through integrations (e.g., your ESP account), which are governed by those providers' own privacy policies.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
Required Information
- Name
- Email address
If you sign up using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account as shared by Google, based on the permissions you grant during sign-in.
Optional Profile Information
- Username
- Profile photo
- Company name
- Designation
- Billing address
- Phone number
- Collaboration data
- Primary purpose of using Templr
Providing optional information is voluntary.
We also collect:
- Messages sent to support
- Content you create inside the builder (design JSON, uploaded images)
- Images you upload to your Image Library for use in your templates (stored via Cloudinary)
- Template submissions to the public gallery
- Contact form submissions: full name, email address, phone number, subject, and message
3.2 AI Feature Data
Templr includes an AI-powered prompt-to-design feature that generates email designs from your text prompts.
- AI providers may include OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.
- Prompts and reference content you submit may be transmitted to these providers to generate results.
- Templr does not use your data to train AI models.
- Templr stores your prompts and the AI's responses in our database so that AI conversations remain contextual across multiple messages within the same project/chat.
- Reference images uploaded specifically for AI generation are not permanently stored by Templr for that purpose.
- You are responsible for avoiding sensitive or confidential uploads or prompts.
Third-party AI providers process data under their own privacy policies.
3.3 Email Service Provider (ESP) Integration & Export Data
Templr lets you export a completed design directly to an Email Service Provider (ESP), in addition to exporting as HTML, image, or PDF. You must connect your ESP account from the Templr dashboard before using direct export. Depending on the provider, connection happens one of two ways:
OAuth-connected providers (e.g., Gmail, Outlook)
- Access is used strictly for sending or exporting content you initiate.
- Templr does not read inbox content.
- Templr does not analyze email messages for advertising or profiling.
- OAuth access tokens are stored securely to maintain the connection.
- Use of Google Workspace APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Templr does not use data obtained from Google Workspace APIs to train AI models.
API-key-connected providers (e.g., Mailchimp, SendGrid, and similar platforms)
- You provide an API key from your dashboard.
- The API key is stored securely and used solely to publish or send your exported design to your connected ESP account.
- Templr does not access your contact lists, existing campaigns, or analytics on your ESP account beyond what is required to complete the export you request.
You can disconnect an ESP integration at any time from your dashboard.
3.4 Test Email Data
Templr allows you to send test emails of your designs to your own inbox or to other recipients you specify.
- Recipient email addresses you enter for test sends are used solely to deliver that test email.
- These addresses are not added to any marketing list and are not used for any purpose other than sending the test you requested.
- Delivery logs may be retained briefly for troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and rate-limiting purposes.
3.5 Analytics and Usage Data
We automatically collect limited technical information, such as:
- Browser type
- Device information
- Pages visited
- Referrer URLs
- Interaction events
Analytics tools currently include:
- Google Analytics

This information helps us understand product usage and improve performance.
3.6 Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:

- Google Analytics cookies (e.g.,
_ga,_ga_<container-id>) — used to distinguish visitors and measure site usage, typically retained for up to 24 months.
Vercel Analytics does not use cookies. It identifies visitors using a privacy-preserving hash generated from the request, which is discarded within 24 hours.
Where required by applicable law (e.g., for users in the EU/UK), we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.

Payments are processed through Polar.sh, which acts as our Merchant of Record for subscription billing (monthly and yearly plans) and one-time AI token top-up purchases.
- As Merchant of Record, Polar is the seller of record for your purchase and may collect billing information (name, billing address, tax details) directly from you to comply with tax regulations applicable in your country.
- Templr does not store full card details.
- We may store limited billing information such as invoices or transaction IDs.
